A hypermodern transformation of the Beurs van Berlage
Backbase Connect is where financial industry pioneers come together to explore the latest trends and innovations. The Amsterdam edition hosted over 1,000 attendees at the iconic Beurs van Berlage. The challenge? Turning this historic venue into a high-end, seamlessly executed event that made an impact both in-person and online. Backbase envisioned a hypermodern, dynamic event space with technology and interaction at its core.
A premium look and feel, effortless integration of presentations, breakout sessions, and networking moments, combined with an audiovisual experience that didn’t just convey content – it made it hit home.
Design
Interactive zones and lounges in a sleek futuristic setting
The entire setup was designed to be sleek, futuristic, and perfectly aligned with the fintech industry, featuring subtle branding and an innovative look & feel. Across the venue, we created interactive zones and lounge areas, furnished with high-end materials and smart lighting solutions to set the perfect atmosphere. Sustainable, modular elements made the design adaptable, allowing for seamless transitions between sessions and activities. Integrated LED screens on stage brought presentations to life.

Together with Koen Events, For Live took charge of the audiovisual experience, branding, and interior design. We delivered full-service AV support, covering sound, lighting, and high-end video production for both live and online audiences. On top of that, we optimized logistics to ensure a smooth setup and breakdown, right in the heart of Amsterdam.
