Introduction
No pop stars this time, just the world’s fastest short track skaters battling it out in a roaring Ahoy arena. For Live provided the setting for the biggest short track event on the planet, second only to the Olympics.
Concept
Most sustainable temporary ice rink ever
High-speed duels, daring overtakes and razor-thin margins make it a heart-pounding spectacle, calling for a setting just as electrifying. At the Nederlandse Loterij ISU WK Shorttrack 2024 presented by Odido, the goal was clear: to create the most sustainable temporary ice rink ever used for a world championship.
We collaborated with multiple partners, all committed to making speed skating more sustainable. While the sustainability claim applies only to the ice rink, For Live took the mission to minimize the event’s footprint to heart.
Design
Circular materials and smart technology

For the 2024 Short Track World Championships, we took it a step further. We factored in sustainability from the very first creative brainstorm. The foundation of our design? Circular materials and a smart use of technology that elevate both performance and impact.
Production
We recycled before it was cool
Every material we use is either fully recyclable or made from recycled sources. Our entire inventory is built around the most energy-efficient solutions on the market, and every investment we make is driven by its ecological footprint.
